New Help Desk System
The Information Technology Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new Help Desk system for faculty and staff beginning Monday, October 5, 2026. This upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment to improving service delivery, streamlining support processes, and providing better support experience.
The new system will serve as the primary method for submitting, tracking, and managing technology and facilities maintenance support requests. Faculty and staff will benefit from a more intuitive interface, improved communication regarding ticket status, and enhanced self-service capabilities.
First-Time Access for Faculty and Staff
IT has used the old help desk system for more than 20 years. Many factors contributed to the decision including customer service improvements, increased availability, and consolidation of multiple technical support apps.
The new help desk system is built on ServiceDesk Plus by ManageEngine (Zoho).
No. There will be no changes for student requests. Students will continue to use https://support.unoh.edu/ticket for technical support.
A limited number of historic helpdesk requests will be migrated from the old system to the new. If you have specific questions, please contact the IT Department at 419-998-2701 and we can work with you to ensure you have the information you require.
No. The new help desk system uses the University's single sign-on system and does not require a separate password.
All support requests ultimately arrive in the same system. The student support requests form (https://support.unoh.edu/ticket) is simplified and does not require the student to be logged in. The student support form is streamlined to eliminate any technical barriers to receiving support. Faculty and staff are required to log in to access additional features such as request (ticket) history.
